Norwegian Elkhound - Purebred Breeding Male and Farm Dog

Have to sell my Purebred male Norwegian Elkhound. He has just bred my female again, and we will be retiring her, along with ourselves, after this litter. He is almost 3 years old, very healthy, and in the prime of his life. He has sired three litters of perfect and beautiful puppies, so far, not including the litter we are expecting in July. His name is Loki and, of course, he could just be a good farm dog or pet. However, he is an exceptionally handsome example of the breed and I'm sure he would very much enjoy an opportunity to make more babies, but we have to start downsizing the farm and the number of animals here, so that the kids can take care of things when we travel. Reasonable offer accepted, as I am mostly just hoping for a good home for him. He is used to chickens running around his yard (they enjoy his protection) and being adjacent to sheep and horses, but you would need to be careful how you introduce him to new cats or other livestock. He loves all people and is gentle with children and everyone he has met. He has never lived in the house, so it might take some housetraining if you want him indoors. You might even be able to make some money with him - I have been paid for his stud service a couple of times. We live 20 minutes east of Edmonton, just north of the Yellowhead, if you want to come and check him out. You can call or text (780)222-5364 for more info.

STARTER HERD of 3 New Zealand X bunnies

Starter herd of meat rabbits: Two 4.5 month old female Albino New Zealand X Californian bunnies and one unrelated New Zealand Black X 4 month old male. These are all large breed rabbits. In addition to being good to eat, they also make excellent pets and are much calmer and less delicate than dwarf rabbits. They are curious and interesting pets that are hardy and inexpensive to keep. They usually get along well with cats and dogs as soon as they are no longer bite size. $35 each, two for $60, or all three for $70. Please call or text (780)222-5364. We live 15 minutes east of Edmonton, but can deliver a reasonable distance.

Two SUFFOLK X EWELAMBS born April2025

Can't keep these girls because their sire is my only ram this year. In the pictures, it's the two black faced ones in the middle of the flock. They are twins from different mothers, born at the end of April and ready to breed for next year. Clean pastured flock with regular TV vax and deworming schedule. No keds. $300 each. No butchering here. If buying for slaughter, they must leave the farm alive and they must be transported humanely. Text or call (780)222-5364. We are 12 minutes East of Edmonton, right by Hwy16.

NORWEGIAN ELKHOUND PUPPIES READY TO GO

Two Norwegian Elkhound puppies born October 16, 2024, and ready for new homes anytime now. In the pictures: One is a girl (the lighter coloured one) and one is a boy (the blacker one); the dog playing with the pups is the mom and the solo dog is the dad. They are all purebreds and this is the parents' first litter. This is a medium sized breed. Even though it might look a bit like a husky, they are not related. They are half the size and much more versatile, friendly, and trainable. They are not at all aggressive, but will let you know if anything or anyone strange shows up. This breed very suitable for outdoor living in Alberta and they could easily be outdoor dogs or indoor/outdoor dogs. They love the snow. Highly trainable, intelligent, versatile, playful, and friendly breed. Great with children and also other pets and livestock, if raised alongside them. Both parents are pure Norwegian Elkhounds that live outside on our farm, where we have chickens, sheep, horses, and a cat, and everyone gets along. The mother has started helping me out with sheep herding and is very responsive to instruction. If you are not familiar with the breed (which has been around since they were helping out on Viking farms) - please note the irresistibly cute fluffy curled tails this breed always holds up high and happy. They are veterinary certified healthy and have their first shots and deworming. $1300 each (or $2300 for both), price flexible for perfect home - phone or text (780)222-5364 We live 15 minutes east of Edmonton by Hwy16 (Yellowhead). Could deliver, but we also welcome you to come out and see the puppies before purchase or deposit. Sure would look great under a Christmas tree!

Photo of BLACK BREEDING RAM
BLACK BREEDING RAM

TWO YEAR OLD BLACK RAM. I have used him to breed my flock for two seasons now and need new blood. You can see one of his ewelambs in the background (born in June last year). He is completely black with excellent quality wool and about half the lambs he throws from my Suffolk crosses are black. He is well behaved around the ewes, but I would still like to get him out of here before I start supplementing them in late pregnancy. Will accept any reasonable offer, especially if you can come and get him. I am 15 minutes east of Edmonton, right by Hwy16.
